What We Believe:
Like other congregations in our community, we share the core belief that Jesus is the Son of the Living God and that we are called to share the good news of God's love with others. In this way, we're like any other Christian congregation you'll find in Hartselle. However, we do think there are some unique characteristics about the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) that set us apart as an important part of the Christian family in Hartselle and which might make our congregation a good place for you and your family to worship, serve, and grow. Here are some of the unique qualities of FCC Hartselle and the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ): An Open Table The Lord's Supper (Communion) is celebrated every Sunday and is open to ALL who believe in Jesus Christ. Freedom of Belief Disciples are called together around one essential of faith: The confession of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. While Disciples are free to follow their consciences guided by the Bible, the Holy Spirit, and prayer, members of FCC-Hartselle are expected to extend that same freedom to others. Believer's Baptism In baptism, the old self-centered life is set aside, and a new life of trust in God begins. Although we practice baptism by immersion, other baptismal practices are honored. Unity By God's grace and design, we strive for unity in God's Church by working and worshiping with other Christians to advance God's Kingdom in our world. Unity is our polar star and a unique part of our spiritual DNA. Ministry of All Believers By baptism, all Disciples are encouraged to share in the leadership of the church in worship, service, and spiritual growth. Mission and Justice We work together to heal the brokenness in our world by preaching the Gospel of Christ in our community, supporting missionaries in other nations, and providing financial relief to those struggling with poverty, war, crime, and natural disasters. We are a mission-minded congregation set on changing the world one person at a time by one good deed at a time. |

We are Disciples of Christ, a movement for wholeness in a fragmented world. As part of the one body of Christ we welcome all to the Lord’s Table as God has welcomed us.
